custom design sneak peak
It's funny that the most challenging projects I take on usually turn out to be the most successful. I'm not sure why, I tend to second guess myself continually on whether the stuff I'm making is going to make my clients happy. I took on a custom design for a couple who is getting married Vero Beach, Florida. The challenge was to create a design with palm trees, bicycles, and lots of yellow (sunny florida!) which may not seem like that big of a challenge, however, in my opinion, it's hard to create palm tree images (or beach themed images) that don't look cheesy or cliche... I'm still in the process of working on this one. Here are a few versions of the save-the-date:

100 Layer Cake Feature
Well, I'm excited cause today I noticed a serious spike in interest for my bicycle save-the-dates and invitations. I like to google myself and solve mysteries.... and to my surprise, I found a lovely real wedding article on 100 layer cake blog. Megan & Chris are clients I worked with earlier this year on bicycle themed save-the-dates, wedding invitations and rehearsal dinner invitations. Love the photos! The actual color is not yellow, more like a chartreuse- But beautifully photographed nonetheless!

Autumn...!
Fall is probably my favorite season. I have a wide variety of colorful scarves hanging in my hallway closet, that have been patiently waiting, since March, to see the light of day.
I found some really fun ideas in this month's issue of CL (Country Living) Magazine for carving pumpkins, I think I'll try this year.

I think the lanterns may be beyond my skill level but I'll give it a go. My front porch is so bare any ole thing will do at this point. The thing I am looking forward to most is getting the chance to hand out candy on Halloween. We moved into our home last October and were too busy unpacking and running around like crazy to take part in trick-or-treat, not to mention I spent a good portion of my childhood not participating. gosh-darn-it I've been waiting a long time to scare the pants off some kid who wanders up my front porch asking for candy...
